How do I tie down my 2003 Electra Glide Classic?

I have to trailer my 2003 Electra Glide Classic, I Don’t have a choice, I can’t ride it to the destination. Where are some good tie down points my 2003 Electra Glide Classic? Some say handlebars and rear footboard brackets, Some say around the forks or crash bars, I have soft straps for the handlebars if needed, Any advice would be appreciated, Also are there good pictures somewhere on line to actually see an Elctra Glide tied down?

For the front, on each side of the triple tree, just above the forks. Bring them down at least a 45 degree angle and forward. Don’t use the handle bars, there’s too much play from the bushings, which are probably rubber if they’re still stock.

For the back, use part of the frame.

Keep all straps towards the front, even the back straps. Also, it’s best to use a wheel chock on the front tire. This will keep the bike solid with the trailer.

What type of "ratchet strap down cable" do you recommend for walking on to enhancing balance?

I am wondering what the cable, used by many athletes and rock climbers to practice balance, is called. They are usually flat and yellow, like the one in this picture:

Thanks!

The one in the picture is a Gibbon slackline.
The other poster is correct, though. No need for a ratchet. But if you are looking for ease of setup and additional tightening while using, then ratchet systems are very fast. However, with a few carabiners or rappel rings, and some 1" wide tubular webbing (all of which can be picked up at your local mom/pop outdoor store that sells climbing gear), you will be able to save yourself a few bucks. Head out and do seaches for "slacklines" and you will come up with a number of "how to" instructional videos. Be sure to use strong anchors (trees!). If you use a living anchor point (trees!) be sure to put some sort of fabric under the straps to help protect the trunk. Carpet samples work great.
-Good luck

Torza Top Tonneau Cover Installation and Product Demo
Video Transcript:

Today’s pickup truck owners realize the added versatility by adding a simple tonneau cover to protect the contents in the bed area. However, most covers require far more time than you have to get them properly installed.

If you’ve got a minute, you can put a Torza Top folding cover on nearly any domestic or foreign pickup. Every Torza Top is constructed from strong, lightweight aluminum framing with reinforced vinyl that resists wear and mildew, and weighs less than thirty pounds. Everything you need to quickly install a Torza Top is attached to the cover itself. There are no frame rails, clamps, fasteners, Velcro, or any other securing devices left on the vehicle when the cover is removed.

Place the Torza Top at the front of the pickup truck bed, with the front edge even with the front of the bed cab. The red retaining straps face up. Starting on the driver’s side of the truck, reach under the tonneau cover and rotate the front clamp from its storage position. Slide the grooved section of the clamp under the edge of the metal liner of the truck bed and pull the handle down. If the clamp is loose or too tight to pull down, adjust the clamp by rotating. It is important that the clamp be secure prior to operation. Unfasten the two red restraining straps, and fasten them to the pre- installed snap on the bow, then unfold the cover until it covers the truck bed. Secure the clamps in the back.

The unique Torza Top also allows you to drive with the cover open. Fold the cover to its open position; unsnap the four red restraining straps from the bow on each side of the truck. Snap the straps to the factory installed snaps on the front rail of the cover. Now you can drive with cover in the open position, a claim many other manufacturers cannot match. These simple instructions will allow you to fully install a Torza Top tonneau cover on your pickup in just a few minutes. No messy parts that can get lost, no complicated fastening systems, and no snaps that need attachment to your bed.

There is a Torza Top cover to fit nearly every pickup on the road, including vehicles produced all over the world. Every Torza Top cover has a lifetime warranty on the frame and seven years on the vinyl. When it comes to ease of operation and quality, look to Torza Top by Advantage Truck Accessories.

How Would You Strap Down a Motorcycle to a Pickup?

I am purchasing a motorcycle and am planning to take it home on the back of a pickup. It’s a little bit of a distance from me so this seems to be the most convenient way. My question is how would I go about strapping down the motorcycle (so it doesn’t fall over) in the pickup? The pickup is NOT mine, so I can’t modify it.
What straps would you recommend getting?

Thanks in advance!

Just get some 15′ ratchet straps and put them on the forks and frame of the bike, higher is better. then attach the straps to the square holes in the bed of the truck, not that hard. Make sure to use AT LEAST 4 straps though!

Adjustable Rollback Straps

0 Adjustable Rollback StrapsThis strap system features three adjustment pockets on the top strap. All wear points are reinforced with heavy duty Cordura sleeving. Sewn eye lasso is extra long, and ensures that no steel will come into contact with high end cars. The extra length means that you can operate the ratchet a safe distance away from any vehicles with low clearance. Several ratchet handle options or just buy the strap and use your own: chain end for key hole grabs, or snap hook.
